Dublin is Dressed for Christmas

I love going into Dublin’s city center at Christmas. The streets sparkle and glow with beautiful fairy lights! The storefront windows on Grafton Street and Henry Street are spectacular! In fact, the whole city really gets into the holiday spirit! While the large department stores have spectacular windows, I’m also amazed when I walk by any businesses throughout Dublin and see the effort that goes into decorating. From coffee shops, bookstores, pharmacies and shopping centers, there are so many festive and fun storefronts.

There is also the Temple Bar area which is also merry and bright!

I love walking around Dublin at any time during the year but it is extra special during the Christmas season! Here’s a short video of Grafton street this season. In addition to all of the sparkle you’ll be sure to hear live music from one end of the street to the other! It is of course much more impressive in person but I hope you enjoy my video and pictures.

Grafton St at Christmas

I’ve talked to lots of people here about how pretty the city is and inevitably I am told to go see the window displays at Brown Thomas on Grafton st. These windows are sensational.

There is a beautiful nativity and Christmas tree at the Spire in Dublin also. All around town there is Christmas Cheer!

Another fun window display that I stumbled upon while walking around showed Christmas through different decades!

I also happened upon a couple of reindeer walking down a busy street while I was admiring more decorations and windows. Here are some pictures from all over Dublin. From the city center to the shops outside of town, there is plenty of holiday cheer to be enjoyed!

I am used to hearing and saying “Merry Christmas!”  Here in Ireland, everyone says “Happy Christmas!” I hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying this season! Happy Christmas to you!
